Mullet Fish Curry Recipe

A fish curry recipe to try for when you’ve got fresh mullet in your shopping bag!


Ingredients for Mullet  fish curry

5 Mullets (medium sized)
6 Kashmiri chillies (seeds removed)
5-6 peppercorns
2 flakes garlic
small piece of ginger
half tsp. cumin
half  grated coconut
l/4 (qtr) tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. coriander seeds
small ball of tamarind
1 sliced onion
2 green chillies (slit)
Salt to taste


Clean and salt the fish and keep aside.

Grind all the above ingredients except the onion and green chillies.
Dissolve the ground masala in 4  cups of water in a pot, and place on the fire.  Add the sliced onion and green chillies.
When it comes to a boil, add the mullets.
Let it cook on a slow fire till the fish is cooked.
